AVIATION SPECIALIST

Mr Abdullah joined with Garuda Indonesia (the flag carrier of Indonesia) in 1975 as a trainee and have over the years been involved in many aspects of Aircraft Maintenance and Operations, primary in the Production, Planning & Control (PPC) aspects and project managements as well as Quality & Safety. In year 2002, Garuda’s maintenance department became Independent Company named GMF AeroAsia and I was transferred to this Company.

My last management position, for more then 7 (seven) years, in GMF AeroAsia was as Vice President for Quality Assurance & Safety. I retired from GMF in January 2011, but since then again I joined GMF on the contract basis as a Senior Advisor until mid of year 2012.

August 2012 up to end of July 2013, I was attached to International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) Project INS/07/802. Project’s objective is to provide assistance to the DGCA in the enhancement of their safety oversight capability in order to comply with ICAO Standards and Recommended Practices and other international and domestic requirements.

Since beginning of August 2013 to end of July 2014 I joined Hevilift Aviation Indonesia (HAI), a fixed wing and rotary wings charter company (Part 135), as Quality Assurance and Safety (QAS) Manager.

Started early August 2014 I am active as an independent consultant and trainer in the aviation field that includes: quality, safety, supervisory management, engineering, airworthiness, and many other aspects. Currently I am also active in Indonesian State Safety Programme (SSP) task force.
